Log styles
What "D-Style" and "Chinked" actually mean on the cabins below.
D-Style
D-Style logs are milled with a flat interior face and a gently rounded exterior. The flat inside lets studs and interior finishes install directly against the log wall, while the rounded outside keeps the classic rustic log-cabin look on display.
Chinking
Traditional mortar chinking cracks and crumbles over time, leaving gaps for wind, bugs, dust, rain, and pollen. Tribal Builds uses Log Jam by Sashco instead — a flexible chinking that keeps the old-time mortar look while moving with the logs and sealing the wall against the elements.
